Associate Strategy Director

We are looking for a business and marketing-focused strategy director who can work across new and existing clients, independently and in small cross-functional teams.

 

This Associate Strategy Director role will work across Ready State to ensure that strategy projects are structured and delivered successfully, and that other Ready State needs (creative, journalism, account and business development) are met on an ongoing basis. The role will report directly to Ready State’s head of Strategy and may coordinate freelance resources depending on ongoing project needs.

 

The ideal candidate will have significant agency, consulting and/or client marketing experience, potentially including work in tech marketing, B2B, consumer, and CPG.

 

Responsibilities

  • Dive deep into client needs and the needs of their customers through quantitative and qualitative research
  • Transform data into actionable insights
  • Develop messaging frameworks and contents
  • Write compelling, detailed and insightful creative briefs
  • Work with creatives to develop concepts aligned to the plan
  • Define a plan and work with creatives to build out
  • Develop test plans, gather data and report results and insights on plan improvements.
  • Define marketing pilots with a built-in test-and-learn structure
  • Work with the broader Ready State team, clients and partners as needed to ensure client needs are fully met creatively, strategically and operationally

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree and 4-6 years experience, including one or more of the following:
  • 3-5 years digital agency experience
  • EM-level management consulting experience
  • PMM experience in tech industry
  • MBA
  • Experience with any or all of the following: Business-to-business advertising, communications strategy, and planning, brand positioning, messaging frameworks, content strategy, CRM, content distribution strategy (including social), media planning, partner marketing, working with creatives, marketing effectiveness measurement and analytics
  • Ability to work closely with teammates and value diversity and with a sense of humor.
